Is this study approved?
A: This research project has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the NT Department of Health and Menzies School of Health Research (REF: 2019-3333).


How will the study help me and others?
A: There are no direct benefits to you taking part in this research. We hope by creating a survey of wellbeing specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, then the impacts of policies and programs can be evaluated more accurately for our mob. We will publish findings in journals and in presentations at relevant conferences. The tool we develop will be made available to government, health services and other interested organisations.

Are there any risks?
A: Some people may feel uncomfortable when completing a survey about their wellbeing. If you become too uncomfortable or upset while completing it, you are free to stop taking part in the study at any time. You can also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.


Who is funding the project?
A: This project is funded by National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC, APP1125434). The NHMRC will not have access to the data we collect for this project and will not be involved in sharing the research findings.
